Electronic Pill Organizer that is timed to remind you to take medication daily, make sure you don't take medication twice, and hold all pills so no bottles become lost.
—Current Problem
Traditional pill organizers do not prevent missed or duplicate doses and are time-consuming to refill. They additionally, can’t keep track of medication bottles, after refilled, which leads to misplacement and clutter.
—Chosen direction
—Sketching & IdeatioN
Played with moving elements, form, and potential joinery of organizer
—Story Board
—Foam Prototype
Used foam board to understand scale, structure, joinery, components, and moving mechanisms. Served as a basis for CAD modeling. Placed Arduino and Breadboard in bottom compartment. demonstrated where the reed switch and magnet would be on the sliding compartment.
—3D Printed Model
CAD Modeled hinges, holes, moving elements and pathways for wires to lay within the design, and connection point joints for final assembly. each element with specific dimensions and tolerances, adding in the needed electronics such as Arduino, breadboard, and more. Tested internal elements with prototype and made adjustments
Grip thin and fragile
Ridge to stop full rotation
Handle too small
Wiring & building final working prototype
Wired, soldered, and attached final elements all together for full working prototype. Arduino, Bread board, Reed Sensor, Magnets, Diffusors, and wires were used in the prototyping process.
